Celery Relish
An Old Fashioned Family Favorite
It use to be one of the real treats of the fall was scarfing down Celery Relish on buttered bread that was hot from the oven. We folded the sliced bread to hold in the dripping juice, the first bite, heaven.
Celery Relish was always on the table throughout the year and was a favorite condiment whether we were having meat or navy beans. It’s chunky, spicy and sweet. Used as what we now know as chutney, it even gives chicken salad a new twist. Excellent on bagels with cream cheese or even use it as a super hot dog relish.
Let your mind run free with this versatile relish:
- Mix with sour cream for a fun and easy veggie dip that you will love.
- Fold into mayonnaise for a chunky veggie dressing over iceberg lettuce as a variation on a salad classic.
- Use in omelets or mix with scrambled eggs revving up this standard fare.
- Heat for a meatball sauce and be ready for raves.
